National Academy Museum & School:
Project Wall "CYANOTURE" (cyanotype + sculpture)
(February 2014)
Project Title: "CYANOTURE" (cyanotype + sculpture)
Artist: Poramit Thantapalit
Medium: Mixed media
Date: 2014
Classes: Unconventional Material Sculpture and Alternative Photographic Processes
Description:
My concept is to use my sculpture as a departure point to create other artwork using different mediums. They are mixed media artworks that combine sculpture and cyanotype photogram together. First, I create an unconventional sculpture using recycled materials. I make my sculpture like a puzzle. They are made of multiple pieces for functional display. They can be interlocked and connected to form the entire sculpture. They can hang on the wall, be free standing on the table or floor or floating as kinetic mobile.
I have also created my cyanotype photogram using part of the unfinished sculpture while I'm working on my sculpture. The cyanotype photogram represents an archive footprint or photocopy of my sculpture. In the end, I will combine both mediums into one artwork, but they also can be displayed as an individual artwork.
