My work get inspired from the relationship and connection between humans, nature and surrounding such as trees, flowers, the ocean, people and animals. I mainly focus on using recycled and non-recycled materials to create my artwork. "I use only my own discarded plastic and paper" I collect what people call “trash” such as plastic bottles, plastic bags, discarded paper and used clothing to create my artwork.
I have worked with recycled materials in all kinds of mediums such as sculpture, large installation, photography, mixed media, fabric arts, drawing, pottery and public arts. My artwork is created from small parts and are uniquely assembled like a puzzle. Each piece can stand alone as an individual object or together to create a large installation. They can be combined in various compositions and layered with other mediums.
I also focus on cyanotype print that I have learn and practice for 10 years. I always create them during work with recycled art and installations. The cyanotype photogram represents an archive footprint or photocopy of my work. I often combine cyanotype with other mediums such as drawing, painting, printmaking, collage and encaustic to create a new medium. I calls this medium, "Cyanoture".
In additional, I have worked on digital negative for cyanotype. My experience as graphic designer and photographer help me to create an unique cyanotype by using digital composite and photo filters to create my digital negative photography. I combine the old technique with the latest technology to produce my own unique perspective in new media artwork.
My work is a good example of how much we generate waste. I hope to inspire people to look at environmental issues carefully. I thinks art is an important way to inspire people to protect our environment.
